Our stock comes from a mix of trusted charity partners, direct donation collections and carefully sourced surplus supply from resellers and house clearance. A large proportion of our items are donated to charity, helping raise vital funds while giving perfectly good clothing, accessories and household goods a second life.  Everything is sorted with resellers in mind, so you get a varied, ever-changing mix of branded fashion, everyday high-street pieces, toys and practical home items that are ready to list and ready to sell.

Preloved Auctions provides an in-house packing and shipping service for most items sold through our auctions.

Our minimum UK Postage charge is £4.95 for up to 1 Kg (+ £1 per extra 1kg).

Some large items may cost more (this will be noted in the auction lot details).

Shipping fees reflect postage costs, packaging materials, and the time required to prepare your parcel, and we always aim to keep these charges as reasonable as possible. You are welcome to request a quote with no obligation, and you may choose to arrange your own courier or similar services.

Postage must be arranged and paid for within 7 days of the auction ending. Shipments are dispatched as soon as possible.

PRELOVED AUCTIONS – TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bidders and buyers using Preloved Auctions. By registering on prelovedauctions.co.uk, placing a bid, or purchasing a lot, you agree to these Terms and enter a binding contract with Preloved Auctions.

2. Definitions

• “Preloved Auctions”, “we”, “us”, “our” – the auction operator.

• “You”, “your”, “buyer”, “bidder” – any person registering, bidding or purchasing through our online platform.

• “Lot” – any item offered for sale.

• “Hammer price” – the final accepted bid at the close of the auction.

3. Auction Format

All auctions are online-only. There is no in-person, telephone or commission bidding. All bids must be submitted through prelovedauctions.co.uk using your registered account.

Preloved Auctions may refuse registration or bidding access at our discretion.

4. Buyer’s Responsibility to Inspect

All lots are sold as seen and as described based on the information and photographs provided. You are responsible for reviewing the description, images, condition notes, and any additional details before placing a bid.

By bidding, you confirm that you are satisfied with the condition and suitability of the lot.

5. Contract of Sale

When you place the winning bid, you enter a legally binding agreement to purchase the lot at the hammer price plus buyer’s premium and any applicable charges. Bids cannot be withdrawn or cancelled once placed.

6. Buyer’s Premium

A buyer’s premium of 27% is added to the hammer price of every lot. This charge applies to all buyers without exception.

7. Payment Terms

Invoices are issued shortly after the auction closes. Full payment must be made within 5 working days.

• Credit card

Items will only be released once payment has cleared.

Late payment:
Invoices unpaid after 7 calendar days may incur interest at 5% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily from the date of the auction.

Preloved Auctions may also cancel the purchase, resell the item, or block your account for future auctions.

8. Transfer of Risk

Risk passes to the buyer as soon as the hammer falls, meaning the lot becomes your responsibility from that moment. Preloved Auctions will take reasonable care of your goods while they remain on our premises but cannot be held liable for unavoidable loss or damage.

9. Collection of Purchases

Collections must be arranged by appointment. Buyers must collect their items within 7 days of the auction closing unless shipping has been requested.

Storage fees may apply if items are left uncollected.

10. Shipping & Courier Options

We offer an in-house packaging and postage service for most lots. Charges depend on size, weight, packaging requirements and destination. A minimum charge applies.

• All parcels are sent via a tracked service.

• Shipping insurance is optional and available at an additional 3% of the hammer price + VAT.

• If insurance is not selected, Preloved Auctions cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage once dispatched.

Buyers may arrange their own courier if preferred. Please notify us in advance and ensure your chosen courier has your collection reference.

We may refuse to ship certain items if they are unusually fragile, oversized, or present a high risk of damage. This is rare and we will notify you if applicable.

11. International Shipping

International buyers must contact us before bidding to confirm that shipping is available and to understand any customs duties, taxes, or restrictions. All such charges are solely the buyer’s responsibility.

12. Returns, Forgeries & Authenticity

If a lot is proven to be a deliberate forgery, you must notify us in writing within 21 days of the auction and provide evidence. If verified, we will refund the hammer price and buyer’s premium in full, provided the item is returned to us in the same condition.

This does not apply to:

• Condition issues

• Age-related wear

• Damage visible in photographs

• Items sold as “unattributed”, “style of”, “after”, “school of”, or similar wording

13. Data Protection

Your personal information is used only for the purposes of registration, bidding, invoicing, and communication related to our services. We do not sell or share your details with third parties except where legally required or necessary to fulfil a shipping request.

14. Behaviour & Conduct

We reserve the right to:

• refuse bids

• suspend or terminate accounts

• cancel purchases

• restrict access to the platform

This may occur if a buyer breaches these Terms, fails to pay, engages in abusive behaviour, or otherwise disrupts the auction process.

15. Disputes

Any disputes arising from bidding, descriptions, payment, or interpretation of these Terms will be resolved at the sole discretion of Preloved Auctions.

16. Limitation of Liability

Preloved Auctions is not responsible for:

• accidental damage after the hammer falls

• delays caused by couriers or postal carriers

• items lost or damaged in transit unless insured

• indirect or consequential losses

Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the lot.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any legal disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England & Wales.
